As Time Rolls Along

(Inspired by a trip down memory lane during Professional development from the story "The Giving Tree")
As Time, it rolls along
Remember me
Full of life
Full of love
As a dreamer full of vision
As a friend, a fellow companion
in a world so dark and cold
As time, it rolls along,
Remember me
Full of life
Full of love
Full of GOD.

Somehwere

Somewhere-
that my eyes can not see at this moment in time
beyond the clouds,
beyond the moon,
beyond the blue stars,
beyond the sea,
beyond this world.
You are somewhere
for i can hear your voice calling to me
in the wind,
in the rain,
in my heart that pains,
even in my soul I can feel you moving.
GOD, I know you're there
even in my moments of despair.
Guide my feet and guard my heart
that I may conquer this pain so dark.
I won't be afraid
for i know that you are with me in my heart...
Somewhere-
that my eyes can not see at this moment in time
beyond the clouds,
beyond the moon,
beyond the blue stars,
beyond the sea,
beyond this world.

A dream, a bass playing, and a pendulum swinging

As I listen to the bass rip,
automatically making a pendulum out of her hips,
I begin to admire the smooth dips
of a certain sweet chocolate chip
so mesmerizing it causes my head to whip
 and my mind slip
 into her charismatic trance
as she dance
 my eyes begin to glance
and I know I don’t stand a chance
of breaking her majestic spell
making my heart bubble up and swell
until I lose all sense self.
Her elegance which she displays
as her body sways
to the righteous jam the DJ
does play
makes me say oh no
I’ve got to go
Before anyone knows
I’m sold into her show
As her rhythm
Creates in me this schism
That I know shouldn’t exist
Leaving me betwixt
And between
As the violins start playing and the soprano begins to sing
I mean,
What a scene!
Here is Cinderella dancing but to a prince who can only dream
What does it all mean
 I may never figure out
What this dream, the bass playing, and a pendulum swinging is supposed to be all about.

Poetry: Feelings

Feelings--
nothing more than feelings
Stealing my joy
revealing a void
deceiving my soul
taking it toll
on my mind losing self control
Behold,
All is vanity
wanting to scream language beyond profanity
it's insanity
battle between my heart and mind
emotions running deeper that any word can define
but now its time
time to confront my hurt and pain
because i don't want these feelings to gain a refrain
It's a shame
many may find this verse mundane
but when it's their emotions it doesn't seem so plain
please explain
what am I supposed to do with the feelings I feel
when I'm told at this stage in my life they shouldn't be real
because they are just
feelings--
nothing more than feelings

Are You In The Fence?

GOD knows how to protect us and take on our enemies at the same time.  It's amazing that the same plague GOD sent to destroy the Egyptian enemies, in the book of Exodus, simply passed over the children of Israel, GOD's chosen people.  The first thing I noticed was GOD notified His children for the danger to come.  He told them that death was coming. Second thing GOD did was empowered His children to prepare for the coming danger. He told them to smear the blood of a lamb over their door post and death would pass right over them. Their pets wouldn't even be disturbed by death if they operated in the empowerment GOD granted them.  Third thing GOD did was put a fence of protection all around all those who operated in the empowerment He had given them.  GOd gave the instruction on what to do, but it was up the them to apply the instruction to save their lives.  I'm sure Israelites who applied GOD's message went to sleep with ease that night. They knew that because they applied the message GOD had them protected. The scripture says GOD did this to prove that HE makes a distinction between His children and the enemy. GOD takes care of His children  I am so glad that GOD does the same thing with His children today.  GOD forewarns His children that death and destruction are coming to this world. He empowered us in John 3:16 by saying "GOD so loved the world that He gave His only Son, therefore who ever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life." Now it's up to us to apply the message to our lives. Once we apply the message to our lives GOD becomes our fence of protection.  We are protected from the death and destruction of the end times because GOD knows how to make a distinction between His children and those who are not.  If we believe in the blood of Christ, our passover lamb, and apply it to our lives, the death and destruction of the end times will passover us. We will be caught up with Jesus, protected from all the chaos.  Do you know for sure that you are in the fence? Are you going to be protected in GOD's fence? If you are not sure seek GOD's salvation today. Pray to Him that He will open your eyes to your sins and your need for Him. Pray for Him to save you and impute or gift to you His righteousness.

Pass The Note

Throughout the years man has found many creative ways to pass on messages. From the classic art of story telling, to sign language, telegrams, postal systems, telephones, emails, myspace, facebook, and text messaging, we have ways of getting our messages across.  Now, with the proper smart phone, you don't even have to text message with your fingers anymore. You can talk into your phone and it will translate the message into text for you.  You can post any message you want on your facebook status and it will be viewable to people from Canada, China, Egypt, Australia, and, if they are actually out there aliens in outer space. (Joke!) We have even created a new language to help us communicate messages faster and easier. Abbreviations like JK, LOL, ROFL, and OMG dominate our messages today. Words like date are now converted to the letter "D" and the number "8" to from the phonetic sound for the word date.  D8=date! We have even gone back to hieroglyphics by inserting smiley or frown faces into our messages to tell what our mood is as we write the message.  I think hands down we can all say this is an information driven age. Some doctor visits can be replaced by going on the Internet to view messages about health as opposed to going to see the doctor. Trips to pay bills can be eliminated by paying online.  Revolution that resulted in over thrown governments happened because of the fast and far reaching spread of messages via Internet or cell phone.  Of all these there is nothing more exhilarating, nothing more worth while, and nothing more memorable than spreading a message by passing notes in class in elementary school.  There is not an experience like it. The letters with the words "Do you like me?" accompanied with two boxes for you to check that said 'Yes' or 'No.' It was so important to do this before recess because at recess you had to send your friends over to the person you wrote the note to so you could determine how they would respond when they write you back after recess.  There was nothing like the thrill of writing a page long love note and folding it into rectangles and squares while the science teacher was explaining mitosis.  Then you had to strategize some dramatically slick way of getting the letter to the person it needs to get to without the teacher catching you or some jealous person reading it. So the the process began. You pass the note to your buddy and had them pass it all the way to the other person.  Besides, the worst thing that could happen is the teacher takes the note and reads it out loud to the class telling of your undying love for the other person, and detention, and a trip to the principals office, and a call home to your parents, and embarrassment as the whole class laughed. In the same way it was important to pass notes and information back in elementary school, it is important that we pass on the message of the Good News of Christ.  No only is it important to pass on notes of GOD's love, but it is a biblical commission. Psalm 78:4 says "We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the LORD, about His power and His mighty wonders."Not only is ii just important and a biblical commission, it is also Christ commissioned. When Jesus rose from the grave He told His disciples, "All power heaven and earth are in my hands.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  In the great commission it tells us to pass notes and not just to our friends but to all nations.  GOD wants the good news of His love spread throughout all the earth to every nationality, ethnicity, social status, gender, and age.  You can be one of the greatest commissioners/storytellers of the world by spreading the Good News of the gospel.  Telling the world about Jesus Christ, His greatness, His death, burial, and Resurrection.  His unfailing love, the miracles He's done and continues to do.  My devo for the day reads, "It is not right to keep GOD's love to yourself.  Your witness may be the only way some people will ever hear the Good News.  Being a Christian isn't about getting 'in' to some exclusive group.  It's about experiencing something so wonderful that you can't wait to invite others to experience it, too."  When you're at school, pass the note.  When you're at home, pass the note.  When you're at work, pass the note.  When you're on facebook, pass the note.  While you're texting, pass the note.  When you're emailing pass the note.  You can even stop gossiping and pass the note. Tell the story of our Savior.  Tell your story of your encounter with a loving GOD!

I Believe in Miracles

I believe in miracles because I believe in a miraculous & supernatural GOD who exitst outside the boundaries of science human reason, and statistics.  As a matter of fact, HE is the GOD who creates & recreates the above three. The miracle is when GOD supernaturally redraws the out of bounds lines, when HE extends the play, when HE defies the reality of mere human beings and infuse the supernatural and the natural.  Miracles help us refocus our minds from created things to creator GOD. Miracles challenge us to look for GOD's infinite supernatural intervention in our everyday finite natural lives.

One of a Kind Kindness-"Showing others you're interested in them becoming all GOD wants them to be."

Acts of kindness are great. They make us feel all warm and happy inside.  It helps us feel accomplished and builds self-esteem. When committing an act of kindness though, we must make sure that we have the beneficiary of the act of kindness in mind as well.  We must ask ourselves, "Is this act of kindness to make us feel better or to better the life of the person we're being kind to?" The answer to this question will dictate what kind of kindness i give to another. If i see someone who needs a new pair of shoes and I decide to give them the worst pair of shoes in my closet, which are in worse condition than the ones the person already has, then this "act of kindness" did not better the life of the person I was being kind to.  Today's Devo says: "...Everything GOD does for you is an act of kindness to help you become all he created you to be." One of a Kind Kindness is an act that tells a person not just you were thinking of them, but that you are excited about them becoming all that GOD wants them to be. How should we show acts of kindness to others? By showing them one of a kind kindness, which means doing an act of kindness that tells someone I'm interested in you becoming all that GOD created you to be.  What actions have you shown someone lately that tells them that you are interested in them becoming all GOD created them to be?

A Patient of Patience

This blog is actually like a prequel of yesterday’s blog on a “Piece on Peace!”  We discovered peace is an option that we can choose in the midst of chaos, or any life situation.  If we respond ion the right way, we can always see GOD’s option of peace.  The key phrase is, “If we respond in the correct manner.  This is where it becomes important to be a patient of patience.  According to today’s devo, “patience is a form of perseverance and endurance that allows us to respond to frustrating circumstances with grace and self control.”  Before we can choose or see GOD’s option of peace in life, we must be a patient of patience which comes not from ourselves.  Being a patient of patience “is a by product of the presence and work of the Holy Spirit in the heart and mind of the believer.”  Run and tell others so they too can be a patient of patience.

A Piece on Peace

Today’s Devo says: "Peace is not the absence of conflict; it's confident assurance in the midst of conflict. Peace comes from dealing with conflict appropriately.  GOD calls you to pursue peace, which involves hard work."  In my journal I wrote. "Today I understand GOD to say conflict in this world is inevitable.  Peace comes when I understand that He is in total control and put my meager faith in a mighty GOD! Peace doesn't just so happen upon us; rather it's something that must be sought out.  In every conflict there is a peaceable option. How we respond decides which option we will take.  Finding, attaining, and showing the fruit of peace doesn't mean that the issue has totally been resolved neither does it mean I have become numb or blind to the issue.  Peace means I have a confident assurance that I am going to make it out alright no matter how this situation turns out."

the Race is not given to...any Race

Could Christian congregations be a source for intentionally/unintentionally teaching racism? Outside of demographically speaking, should there be a such thing as: Hispanic Christians, Asian Christians, white Christians, black Christians, etc.?  Each culture has a distinct style but should this be used to divide the body of Christ? For you are all children of GOD through faith in Christ Jesus. And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male or female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. Galatians 3:26-28

Obey Your Thirst

"GOD blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied...As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O GOD.  I thirst for GOD, the living GOD.  When can I go stand before Him...Jesus replied, Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again.  But those who drink the water I give them will never be thirsty again...And let him who thirst come.  Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely." Matt 5:6, Psalm 42:1-2, John 4:13-14a, Rev 22:17b

Since this principle is true, in that if i look to GOD to quench my thirst I will never be thirsty again, then what does it mean when I am a believer who's seeking GOD and coming to Him yet have this constant feeling of being spiritually dehydrated?
